Urinary incontinence is a loss of bladder control. Patient feels difficulty in holding urine which is often embarrassing. The leakage is sudden, may be associated with cough or sneezing. Common age group is above 50 years but not common among all old age people.
Presentation of the patients:
Stress: Urine ooze out due to increased abdominal pressure, may be associated with physical stressors on abdominal cavity, climbing stairs, laughing, coughing, sneezing, followed to the bladder
Urge: Involuntary leakage accompanied by or immediately preceded by urgency
Mixed: both stress & urge incontinence, signs are leakage with urgency and increased abdominal pressure.
Functional: The inability to hold urine due to psychiatric disorders
