Wrist is very usable joint of human body that consists of 8 bones, many ligaments, tendons and muscles passing by it. We use it all the times that it may lead to injuries and pain. Wrist pain occurs due to its overuse in different activities, i.e. writing, texting, typing and weight lifting. It is the most common cause of wrist pain among pregnant women, dentists and surgeons as wrist injuries or swelling may have compressions on median nerve.
Any object that hit the hand or falling over the wrist cause swelling, redness, numbness, bony subluxations or even fractures.
Osteoarthritis is usually uncommon in the wrist joints but rheumatoid arthritis may cause tendon or joint swellings, inflammation, severe pain and stiffness.
A fluid filled sac have nerve supply (free nerve endings) in it can restrict the tendons in the carpel tunnel and compress the structures in the surrounding.
